Heaven has its reasons, Earth has its resources, and Man has his political order, thus forming with the first two a triad. But he would err if he failed to respect the ground rules of this triad and infringed on the other two. – Xun Quang Xunzi, 3rd century
Naomi Wolf says she is a pacifist yet has started marksmanship training. She is afraid that the thugs of the WHO’s military might arrive at her door and her Commander in Chief will not be able to protect her. Naomi’s got her gun and she intends to stand her ground.
The World Health Organization is poised to become a dictatorial global authority whence cometh the next pandemic. Elite world rule has been a highly predictable outcome given the planet’s current power constellation. But few envisioned it would be dressed in the garb of protecting human health. Worldwide rallies for sovereignty are being organized. The World Freedom Defense Fund “opposes the proposed amendments to the International Health Regulations (IHR), an attempt to implement the public health equivalent of a “one-world government” in violation of individual nations and citizens’ inalienable rights and sovereignty.”
The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons says:
Now there are efforts underway to double-down on failed WHO leadership with a proposal to create a new pandemic treaty that could hand international regulators more tools to promulgate protocols and procedures which will by far do more damage than good.
In addition, the WHO is set to consider questionable amendments, proposed by the Biden Administration, to existing International Health Regulations (IHR) that appear to expand WHO authority while limiting nations' ability to contravene WHO actions. While certain analysts offer somewhat benign rationale for the changes under consideration, others warn of dire consequences for medical freedom and national sovereignty.
The keyword here is SOVEREIGNTY. The WHO would take away the decision-making power of our sacred nation states. You know, the states that have done such a good job of solving social problems like hunger, homelessness, environmental degradation and war.
Sovereignty is the status of a person or group of persons having supreme and independent political authority. In dealing with the concept of sovereignty, we are dealing with the reality of power. It’s a power over territory, over land and water, oil and minerals, as well as those life forms that have miraculously emerged out of the mud of the earth.
There is the snag. We have not yet defined the parameters of power in relation to the sovereignty of the individual. Before a global authority can be trusted to wield power benignly, the problem of the current undemocratic control of the earth must be addressed. Battles are fought over territorial control. The WHO now wants to control our individual bits of walking talking Mother Earth.
Indigenous wisdom has much to contribute regarding the most fundamental perception of sovereignty. The Maori of New Zealand have a word for it – “turangawaewae” – meaning a place to stand. Maori people affirm that a human being born on and from this earth has a rightful place to stand, to BE on this earth. The Earth is our “bearthright.” We are earth creatures. As such we cannot exist without connection to the earth. All of our basic needs for survival come from the earth. This is an obvious truth. Why then is “equal rights to earth” not a fundamental human right proclaimed in the democratic constitutions of nation states?
The problem is that democracy has not “grounded” itself. We have not yet extended democratic principles of human equality down to the ownership and control of the earth. The nation state as presently constituted is ungrounded and unembedded in equal rights to the earth and thus cannot create the world of well-being, peace and justice that we seek. Appealing to the sovereignty of the nation state is not a sufficient ground to stand on to resist global tyranny.
A meme titled Just Tested Positive for Sovereignty has eight points, the last one being “socially distancing from the system.” Ah, socially distance from authority, of course! That’s why Naomi is learning to shoot! I can relate to her “Annie Get Your Gun” mentality. Annie Oakley was my favorite persona when I was a little girl. I wore my cowgirl hat and boots and packed two six-shooters in my holster belt. If ever the WHO bad guys show up on our doorsteps Naomi and I can fight against tyranny and shoot from our windows. We’ll take a stand in our personal Alamos. But tell me, where are the homeless people going to take their stand? ….all the homeless people, where do they all come from…where do they all belong….
Homeless camps in floods:
A clear summary of what the WHO is up to and why we should care. Thanks, Alanna.
Excellent, thoughtful, well-written piece. It is essential to raise consciousness about Sovereignty. Thanks for the link to Naomi's piece. Great to have you on Substack.
